Man has sought a relationship with the Creator since the beginning. Religions have both offered comfort and been used to manipulate and oppress peoples of the world by design.
The vast majority of religious texts have multiple levels of meanings hidden within them, using symbolism and allegories freely – specifically to impart information to the initiated, and to mislead and misdirect the “flock” of “sheep” who are only given the exoteric doctrine.
The leaders of all major religions of the world know the same deep esoteric secrets and yet they withhold this information from their sheep in order to imprison their minds and to maintain power over them. Now any person can learn these same esoteric secrets and reclaim that power, re-read the religious texts and realize the True meanings they are meant to convey. There is a reason for the phrase “those who have eyes to see and ears to hear,” however, most people are too comforted by the exoteric doctrines that they are taught and will continue to take literally their religious texts. It is true then the saying, “they are taken with a strong delusion.” Denial is a powerful force, but Truth is much more powerful.
Take the time to learn about symbolism and the esoteric, and then re-read the religious texts. What is revealed therein will amaze you. Always, always keep the following in mind:
Examine for yourself the claims your shepherds use to bind you to them! - Stefan of Tuzla

In Zionism, the late Nathan Rotenstreich traces the dialectical connections between Zionism’s past and present based on his contention that the Jewish nation comprises both the State of Israel and the Diaspora. He also addresses relations between both Israel and the Diaspora, on the one hand, and Israel and the Arab world, on the other. Written a short time before Rotenstreich’s death, Zionism can be regarded as his spiritual and ideological legacy.

The publication of a volume of essays on Buddhism and science presupposes that these two fields are commensurable and that the interface between Buddhist theories and practices and scientific theories and modes of inquiry can somehow be fruitful. But serious objections to this presupposition can be raised from the outset, so I would like to introduce this work by presenting arguments against such a coupling of Buddhism and science together with my responses to those arguments. The first idea to be considered is the view that religion and science are autonomous, their domains of concern mutually exclusive, so they really have little, if anything, to say to each other. I shall respond to this assertion by first analyzing whether Buddhism can properly be categorized according to modern Western notions of religion, then I shall describe specific elements within Buddhism that may be deemed scientific. I shall then distinguish between empirical science itself and the metaphysical dogma of scientific materialism that is often conflated with it. Next I shall address objections raised by proponents of postmodernism, to the effect that Buddhism and science are cultural specific and hence fundamentally incomparable. Finally, I shall present suggestions for a dialogic approach to the study of Buddhism and science that may enrich both fields and consequently broaden our understanding of the subjective and objective domains of the natural world.

Bonewits writes of Witchcraft from its disputed origins, to the Inquisition, to its re-invention in the 20th century. A scholarly, pungent, witty and sometimes personal account. The book is a succinct guide to the many ways the term “witch” has been used over the centuries, and includes a preface by Ashleen O’Gaea (author of “The Family Wicca Book”), a detailed recommended reading list, and an analysis of the standard ritual design used by most Wiccan traditions. It is the fruit of the author’s over thirty years of Wiccan research and practice.

The essence of the book is a dissection of ‘gnosticism’ and its trajectory from Zoroastrianism/Mazdaism through Greek philosophy in its intercourse with Avicenna in the Islamic world through its eventual and perhaps ultimate manifestation in Shi’ism. It’s something of an alternative view to an Incarnationist Christology, an attempt to recover something ‘lost’ by the worldview of this Christianity of the Councils.

It is curious that in Israel the Khazar’s history is only briefly mentioned in schools in Israel. “Letters to the Khazar” by Jehuda Halev is studied, but more as a literary piece that in context with the Khazars. That is the reason that the book was so interesting: It presents a theory which is quite unacceptable to the religious population in Israel. (and outside as well). Are all the eastern european Jews in essence converts? It makes the whole question, so much dealt with in Israel, of “who is a Jew” rather ironical. Are the religious Jews the “real” Jews? And how can they be so much against conversions to judaism, if they themselves are converts? Interesting! Of course, the theory the book presents that ALL the east European Jews are descendants of the Khazars is only a theory, but Koestler surely presents some interesting arguments! Fascinating reading!

Knohl’s chief claim is “Jesus was the heir and successor of the Messiah of Qumran.” The latter is described in two hymns in fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and Knohl argues that he was a certain Menachem, a friend and supporter of Herod who was removed from his position of leadership in the Jewish community when he made his messianic aspirations public after Herod’s death. Knohl includes the hymns in an appendix, along with discussion of the influence of the Messiah of Qumran on Jesus’ messianic consciousness and the influence of the Roman vision of redemption in Virgil’s Fourth Eclogue on the Messiah of Qumran. Readers who share Knohl’s questioning attitude about “the Jewish context of Jesus’ messianic career” will find the brief, accessible book fascinating and informative, as will readers more generally interested in the visions of redemption that emerged out of the rich religious context of Rome in the centuries before Jesus.

The Christian world knows that certain things in the Bible are symbols of Spiritual things. For instance, it is known that the land of Canaan stands for a heavenly state of Hie. But it has not been known that the whole Bible, in every least part, is symbolic of spiritual things. Every person, place and thing, every historical event, ritual of worship, yea, every word of both the Old and New Testaments, contains a deeper spiritual sense or meaning. This deeper, spiritual sense involves and concerns solely the Lord Jesus Christ, His Divinely Human things of Love and Faith, and the manner in which these things of Love and Faith are received by men, in their regeneration. Presented here are lectures on the symbolic character of the sacred scripture to aid in a greater understanding and deepening of faith.
